Passports General Guidelines:

* Lebanese nationals, residing overseas, are required by law to register their names with the nearest Lebanese Mission abroad and inform of any change in their civil status or their address as soon as possible.

* Applicants are required to be present in person. Nevertheless, it is possible for the Embassy to process their papers by mail. In the latter case, some of these documents will require to be notarized, where indicated below.

* Children who are over 15 years can no longer be on one of their parents’ passports and should have individual passports. They require, until the age of 18, a letter of authorization from their parents & 3 passport size photos, all notarized if forwarded by mail. (see sections E & F).

* Minors who are 15 years old and younger may have their names added to one of their parents’ passport (see Section E) or obtain:

- an individual passport, if holding a Lebanese I.D. or an Extract of the Individual Civil Registry Record (Ikhraj Kayd Fardy), with both parents’ written consent (signed in front of the Consular Officer in person or notarized by a Notary Public if sent by mail).

- a Laisser-Passer if their Birth registration at the Embassy is complete, with both parents’ written consent (signed in front of the Consular Officer in person or notarized by a Notary Public if sent by mail).

* The fees are subject to change without notice. Receipts are issued when no Consular Stamps equivalent to the amount of the fees in Lebanese Pounds, are affixed.

* Passports are issued / renewed for a period of either 1 or 5 years.

* The passport holder must not resort to any correction, cutting, erasure… etc. of any kind.

* It is not possible to add new pages on a passport. A new passport will be issued and attached to the old one.
